Over the last two or three months, I’ve tried to take all of the change I receive while out and about, find in my car, and find on the ground and put it all in a large water jug. The work paid off. With relatively no effort, I managed to save $86 when I counted it up a few minutes ago. I don’t see why so many people just throw their coins around!

Every little bit counts.
Tuesday, May 18th, 2010The Internet is a distraction.
Sunday, May 16th, 2010So classes are boring and surfing the Internet is so much more rewarding than actually doing any work right now. Over the past week while putting of school work, I’ve been reading up on military specification wiring and a whole lot of suspension design theory. Both are some really interesting and complex topics that I’ll hopefully pick up the basics of at some point. Until then, here’s a video I found earlier today. It was the best music video at SXSW this year. I love the idea behind this…and the song kicks ass too.

Thursday, April 29th, 2010I forgot to post pics from the trip up here! Over my spring break, the Scion event that a friend and I came up with last year, had it’s second – what appears to be annual now – meet up in Gatlinburg, TN. The week before the trip, I realized I needed new tires. So, I finally finished polishing my TRD wheels…with a lot of help from friends. We’re talking 4 days of sanding 8-10 hours a day with 2-4 people at any given time. Thanks guys!

We stayed in this 52 person cabin with 12 bedrooms, 3 hot tubs, a pool table, 5 decks, 2 fridges, etc. It was baller.

then we bothered some park rangers:

Had to get a little photoshoot with the finished wheels:

Finally, we filmed Jay dragging the strip for the official video:

I can’t wait until next year! Pics courtesy of Yuto Toyama.
‘32 Roadster
Monday, February 15th, 2010It’s blatantly obvious that I’m an import guy. I own two VW’s, umpteen vw transmissions, rougly 7 vw engines, a Scion xB, and two Nissan S13’s. Yet, unlike many people in the modern car scene, I do not hate hot rods or traditional rodding like they appear to hate us. It’s just a different style. With respect for that style comes appreciation and influence that can be carried over to your own projects. This is one reason people seem to love my build ideas…at least I’ve been told. It’s also why my S13 build is heavily inspired by the shaved, stanced, and clean movements in the VW world.
I love clean cars, no matter the make. The following duece is a perfect example of traditional rodding style that I just love. It’s so clean!
